GEOBLOCK TURF PAVERS

Geoblock® and Geoblock2 turf pavement modules enable grass to replace asphalt, concrete and aggregate surfaces in areas of vehicular and pedestrian movement. Both Geoblock styles spread and transfer imposed loads associated with emergency & utility access lanes, auxiliary parking areas, driveway & golf cart shoulders/aprons, event zones, approaches to monuments, statues & fountains, maintenance driveways, etc. They prevent crushing of root systems and densification of growing soils, yet cannot be seen within maintained turf. Precipitation infiltrates this turfed pavement system, reducing runoff and site stormwater control needs. Due to the vegetal surface afforded by Geoblock and Geoblock2, the quality of stormwater runoff is typically enhanced significantly.

Uniquely, Geoblock and Geoblock2 transfer loads from module to module via interlock tabs. Therefore, imposed stresses aren’t just transferred downward to underlying aggregates or subgrades. Rather, the loads are distributed over a significantly wider area. This load transfer mechanism offers several key performance advantages:
Geoblock: GM Tech Center

1. Geoblock and Geoblock2 require the least thickness of support structure of any turf pavement system, reducing total installed system cost.

2. Snow removal over both products is possible, a requirement for many applications such as emergency and maintenance access drives, without catching block edges and damaging the turf pavement system.

3. Turf maintenance equipment operates without operator jarring as the adjacent modules are held to the same elevation via the interlock tabs.

GEOWEB SURFACING

Geoweb® cellular confinement sections, in combination with various aggregate infills, provide porous surfacing within areas of both vehicular and pedestrian movements. Often replacing asphalt, concrete or unconfined aggregates for such applications as emergency & utility access lanes, auxiliary parking areas, driveway & golf cart shoulders/aprons, event zones, approaches to monuments, statues & fountains and maintenance drives, Geoweb porous surfacing meets a wide range of load support characteristics and aesthetic requirements.

When filled with an open-graded aggregate / topsoil mixture, Geoweb sustains heavy loads yet allows the area to be maintained in traditional turf surfacing. When filled with sand, high load support results and the surfacing blends in with many natural landscapes - critical dune access roads and parking areas, Great Lakes shoreline parking, trail heads and other locations where surface sand is prominent. When filled with free-draining gravel, Geoweb supports heavy loads yet maintains areas with dry footing and relatively low maintenance. Gravel porous surfacing works well for vehicle storage zones, entrance drives of all types, substation and industrial yards where electrical arc attenuation is required and walking paths.
