Contractor Information

Nutrient Separating Baffle Boxes [NSBB] are simple and fast to install as the internal framework and screens are preassembled and attached within the lower concrete unit prior to site delivery. In essence, most installations require placement of two box halves [bottom and top].  For deep installations, a third concrete unit consisting of a rectangular riser may be needed.  Concrete units are produced with ship-lap joints.  Butyl rubber produces the seals between adjacent concrete units. Conventional grouting/sealing of both inlet and outlet pipes will be the contactor's responsibility.

The UCF NSBB Installation 'case file' provides a pictoral - time sequencing review of the installation process for a medium-sized system. Note that this system involved using three concrete units rather than a conventional two unit system. Furthermore, the contractor field-installed a floating weir. While suggested for improved performance, a floating weir may not be required. When they are, they are typically pre-installed prior to delivery. Regardless, the UCF installation required only 6 hours from an unexcavated condition to backfill completion - fast and cost effective!

Each NSBB is custom fabricated for the specific placement location on a site. Please allow 3-6 weeks for product delivery once after PCI receives the a purchase order [this range is typically dependent on the concrete fabricator's backlog]. During bidding/negotiating for a project, Price & Company will provide NSBB costs, listing of concrete units comprising the NSBB system and approximate weights of each concrete unit. Unless noted otherwise on the Price & Company 'Quotation For Materials', prices for the NSBB model(s) reflect:

  1. Manufacturer's production of baskets, frames, deflectors, flow dividers, weir system, Storm Boom(s) and butyl rubber seals, along with freight to the concrete fabricator's yard.
  2. Concrete fabricator's production of units.
  3. Installation of manufacturer's items into the lower concrete unit.
  4. Estimated freight costs from the concrete fabricator to the jobsite.

Unless noted otherwise, Price & Company 'Quotation For Materials' will separately include prices for rings/covers, frames/grates and/or hatches per the project documents.

Unless note otherwise, Price & Company 'Quotation For Materials' will NOT include sales tax, spacing rings, field fabricated concrete risers [if hatches are used], or materials needed to seal pipes into the NSBB.

Depending on the concrete fabricator, the delivered price may include NSBB unit 'setting'.  The inclusion of this service as a part of the Price & Company prices must be independently agreed upon between the contractor and the concrete fabricator.
