North American Green erosion control blankets successfully control soil erosion and assist with vegetation establishment on projects ranging from manicured residential lawns to severe slopes to moderate-velocity storm flow zones. This complete family of extensively-tested, temporary products includes short-term, extended-term and 100% biodegradable erosion control blankets. Because every soil disturbance area has unique characteristics – including topographic features, soil characteristics, climatic variances, regulatory mandates and construction schedules – North American Green produces 10 different, high-quality erosion control blankets that meet the needs of nearly all applications.

To meet varying site demands, North American Green utilizes a variety of organic matrixes, including straw, blended straw/coir fiber and coir fiber. The blankets vary in erosion stress reduction capability and functional longevity due to the composite matrix, net and sewing thread materials as well as the fabrication processes. As a result, one or more North American Green blankets will provide immediate erosion protection from precipitation impact, sheet flows and moderate-shear concentrated flows for virtually all anticipated site-specific conditions.

All North American Green blankets assist in establishing vegetation via their ability to create a microenvironment conducive to seed germination and early plant health. These blankets reduce wide daily temperature swings, moderate seasonal soil temperatures [cooler in hot weather and warmer in spring/fall situations] and reduce moisture loss attributed to evaporation or wind dessication. As a result, vegetation germination is more complete and uniform using any North American Green blanket. Therefore, selection of the appropriate blanket is based on the growth characteristics of the vegetation and the time-of-year installation occurs as well as the severity of the anticipated erosion stresses.
