Geopro Matrix

Simply put, Geopro® Matrix offers the best in hydraulic mulch performance and value - no exceptions.

Matrix incorporates long, strong cotton fibers - the reinforcing component of this composite. Cotton not only provides the surface texture and frayed geometry that bond tightly with our binder, its drapability produces a mulch which conforms and bonds to the soil surface. And using all natural cotton fibers for reinforcement produces no synthetic residue. A 70/30 blend of virgin hardwood fiber and post-consumer recycled paper comprise the remaining portion of the composite mulch blend.  The result - industry standard setting characteristics in loading ease, mixing consistency, pump compatibility and nozzle adaptability as well as converage consistency, low-splash, strength, durability, color retention, seed propagation and plant vitality.

Complimenting this unique fiber composition, Silt Stop® binder simply outperforms any and all binders and tackifiers currently available. It produces very strong bonds among the Matrix components and between the components and the soil surface. It works immediately - producing mulch security upon spray-down - and grows stronger as it drys. It lasts, typically, 2-4 months to secure seed, fertilizer and mulch throughout the germination stage and through many wetting cycles. Silt Stop chelates phosphates and nitrates, making these critical nutrients available for root growth when needed most - immediately after germination and during the early plant establishment stage. And because the phosphates and nitrates are bonded in both the particulate and dissolved forms, nutrient entrance into adjacent waters is all but prevented. Finally, Silt Stop makes the slurry ‘very slippery', creating better mixing and shooting characteristics.

The unique combination of all organic fibers and Silt Stop separates Geopro Matrix from all other hydraulic mulches and matrixes - in ease of use, erosion control and resulting vegetation establishment. As stated - simply the best value - no exceptions.

Applied in September, during a mild to moderate rain storm at the Pottersville, MI I-69 rest stop [northbound], Geopro Matrix not only held the slurry components and underlying soils intact until spring, but also helped establish vegetation subjected to partial fall and early spring germinations [photos above].

Difficult terrain, extreme slopes, dense canopy conditions and sensitive riparian protection made the selection of Geopro Matrix simple for this utility company restoration project in Caledonia, MI [photos below].
