Geoweb® cellular confinement sections, when used in combination with reinforcing geogrids or tie-backs, provide a fascia system for GRS walls and oversteepened slopes with multiple functions and benefits, including:
• As a construction aid, Geoweb enables proper soil compaction to the wall face.
• Geoweb contains and confines various in-fill materials, such as topsoil, gravel or concrete, which, in turn, produces a wide range of aesthetic choices and performance capabilities.
• Geoweb walls remain flexible, capable of withstanding minor to moderate foundation soil movements [consolidation, frost heave, swell] without a loss in structural integrity or aesthetic appeal.
• Geoweb fascias can be fully vegetated, softening the impact to featured landscape foregrounds.
• Geoweb fascias are ‘soft’ compared to alternative systems, imparting less damage to impacting vehicles, rolling stock, equipment and their occupants.
|
Stacked Geoweb sections, in conjunction with select infill, may be designed as gravity walls, reducing the section width to accommodate tight site geometries. The previously described functions and benefits remain valid for such gravity walls. |
